MULTIDISCIPLINARY

  • Unearthed

    Almeida Theatre (2024)

In response to the Almeida Theatre’s new repertory season, “Young and Angry”, I was invited to research marginalized working-class experience in the mid-20th Century. My selected extracts, traversing performance, literature and oral history, were performed on the Almeida stage. I wrote, directed and produced extracts with a queer focus.

  • Health & Safety

Commissioned by the Barbican & Resolve Collective (2023)

A live interview piece about the experience of the workers who built the Barbican by hand, based on archival oral history interviews with workers. The project explored archival erasure, with a focus on the voiceless contributions of workers of colour.

  • Interrogation

    Southbank Centre (2023)

A work-in-progress extract of my play about medical purgatory and gender transition was programmed as part of Refugee Week.

  • Public Space

    Commissioned by Farrer Huxley (2023)

A new sound installation exploring local Kingston residents’ relationships to the local area, based on interviews with locals about their frustrations and dreams for public space. Co-created with visual artist, Amber Gibbins.

  • Redline Redefined

    Commissioned by Thingamagigs (2022)

An interactive sound-walk co-created with sound artist Hallie Smith in response to redlining, a discriminatory American housing practice. Through interviews with members of the community about their contributions, audiences discovered the value of their local areas that was never captured by redlining.
